Burberry The Beat for Men

The newest fragrance from Burberry is the brand’s attempt at attracting a more youthful audience to their range and has been heavily promoted alongside images of teens and twenty-somethings in order to give them the edgy image they are vying for.   Described by Burberry as being a ‘woody fragrance’, “The Beat” includes Leatherwood, Vetiver Bourbon, Cedrat, Black Pepper and Violet Leaves Accord.

The fragrance is somewhat subdued, but not overly so, and works well to provide that slight and emanating scent that is often missing from the overpowering scents that can be found on the counter.  The Beat is light and the woody, peppery vibe is reminiscent (at least to me) of Emporio Armani White from way-back-when, except with a more masculine tone.

In fact, the more I use the fragrance daily, the more I enjoy it, which is contrary to my initial thoughts where I felt that it could be seen as a little bland.
