Plimsolls Dilemma

DEKs

With the recent ‘fashion fad’ of plimsolls we have seen a massive influx of different styles, colours and shapes in our high street stores. But which ones are the best? There are a few variables to consider of course; value for money, comfort and of course style! So i have taken the liberty of identifying what i feel are the two best options on the market.

Firstly we have the cheaper (hence more popular) option ‘deks’. These can often be picked up for a total of £8-£12 on ebay. The plimsolls themselves will only set you back £5, the rest will be made up with postage and packaging. A good tip is to buy maybe 2 or 3 at a time (they also come in black) this way many of the sellers will give u discounted postage or will post the whole order for the same postage cost as just the one pair. As you can see from the picture they drop ridiculously well with jeans and pretty much anything else you may choose to wear in the trouser department….. yes even shorts! They are not the most comfortable plims out there but for that price you dont expect to be walking on air, a definite must have for any footwear collection.  Read on for the next pair…

Now we come to the more expensive option, try not to get the names mixed up, these are ‘keds’. These will set you back between an average £20-£25 and can be found in your typical high street shoe stores; office, schuh, size to name but a few. You may be asking why they are so much more then the deks when they look relatively similar and the answer is simple… quality. They are made from a more sturdy material that A. Keeps your feet warmer B. Isn’t likely to wear as quickly and C. Provides a bit more support for the ankle (like anyone worries about that). These are a good option if you have that bit more money to spend and you want your plimsolls to last that bit longer whilst they drop equally as well with all types of jean/trouser and come in both black and white.
