After a long, long wait, the inevitable time had to come for Cocosa – the invitation only womenswear sale site – to open its doors for menswear purchasers. With many ranges and designers leading the men’s roster including Nicole Farhi, John Smedley, Stephen Webster and Vivienne Westwood; it looks like the team at Cocosa have clearly done their homework.
I should probably have started with a rather large thank you to the press team at Cocosa for the largely enjoyable event that came with all the frills we could ever want here at Stylenerds, but our attention need not be bought, as we were the first in line to request this opening from the prestigious media-owned brand.
In many ways, Cocosa is likely to have already established itself with the Esquire-reading male fraternity – who constantly seek to find the quintessential sought-after bargain for the ladies in their lives – but the official menswear launch will open the floodgates to a wider male audience, who might have previously been seen queueing on street corners at various warehouse locations in the East End, but can now cosy-on-down in front of their netbooks with a cup of tea and surf the delights of Cocosa, all from the comfort of their armchair.
Lauren (we have checked with each other and are fairly certain this was her name), our esteemed host for the night and Web Editor over at Cocosa has also assured us that continuity of some mainstream brands (read: non-high-fashion) will also be on offer, so as to shrug off the snob affiliation that other sites like Net-A-Porter (when are these guys getting in on the action?) can sometimes be stigmatised by.
In any case, with up to 80% off RRP and a promise that collections will be no older than last-year’s equivalent season, there will be something for everybody and with the weather looking as bad as it does right now, layers and lots of them, looks to be the best way forward.
Key dates that you need to add to your calendar:
The menswear launch takes place on Monday, 8th November.
