Hairbond – New Men’s Hair Styling Range

Here at SyleNerds, we love our hair products.  The Nerds’ favourite is Gatsby Moving Rubber and we always have a few of each colour lying around the place, which I like to steal to use for myself when I’m getting ready for a night out.  Normally when we receive samples or press releases for other hair styling products they don’t match up to the high standard of Gatsby.  However, one particular brand caught my eye – Hairbond, as it has been created purely for men, here in the UK.  The brand was formed when company founder and director, Scott Michaels became frustrated with the current lack of high quality men’s grooming products, he comments: “After nearly 15 years of retailing professional products I personally became dissatisfied with imported, boring and gimmicky brands with sub standard product ranges.”

Hairbond’s promise is to deliver products of the highest possible standards, using top of the range product formulations and ingredients to create an authentic British solution for the ultimate men’s styling results.  To achieve this, all of their products contain high performance ingredients, including an advanced heat formulation designed for heat protection up to 220oc, a rainforest secret that supports the thickening of the hair’s appearance, and a sea extract with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which helps moisturise and protect the hair and scalp, preventing damage and restoring hair’s volume and brightness.  In addition to their impressive ingredients, Hairbond do not test their products on animals and do not work with an companies who perform unethical testing.

The result of this hard work has seen the creation of two hair styling products that are currently on the market: Moulder, a Professional Hair Shaper and Sculptor, a Professional Hair Putty, with a further four products to be introduced in 2011.  The products are perfect if you use hairdryers or straighteners, as their heat protection formulas will prevent your hair getting damaged.  You can even use both products together: the Moulder to give the hair volume and hold, and the Sculptor to give separation and texture.

The Hairbond Moulder is a unique hair-shaping product that creates separations with a very dry matte finish.  The strong, flexible hold that it creates gives immediate grab and a high-density texture, while thickening the hairs’ appearance.  Moulder gives the effect of wax but without the shiny, greasy look, similar to the finish of American Crew Fiber, but it leaves your hair feeling thicker.  The mouthwatering red apple and pineapple fragrance is an added bonus of this strong holding matte wax.

The Hairbond Sculptor is a high-density putty that is soft and gives an emulsion-like gloss texture to the hair.  Designed for separation and medium hold, it is easy to mould and works superbly on dry hair, separating thicker hair types.  It can also be used for this season’s must-have slicked back hair, creating a great texture without drying the hair.  The divine and scrumptious sweet green apple fragrance and amazing texture have made this my absolute favourite!  If your girlfriend’s anything like me, she won’t be able stay away from this irresistible smell!

The packaging of the Hairbond products is incredibly simple, stylish and sophisticated and will definitely look great on your bathroom shelf, with each product having its own colour to distinguish it.  With their delicious smell and the fact they are one of the best looking hair products I have seen, Hairbond products are certainly worth every penny of their £11.95 price tag.  You will also find that a little goes a long way and you will only need to coat your hands in a thin layer and rub through your hair to keep it in place all day.  They are currently available to buy on their site or at selected UK stockists.
