Aberdeen’s leading designer menswear store, Signature, has beaten off stiff competition from its rivals and been awarded one of the most prestigious awards in the fashion industry at the 2010 Drapers Awards, picking up the Menswear Retailer of the Year award. Signature owner Patrick Ritchie believes that his stores won the coveted award due to his continued investment into the two stores: Signature and Signature 2, located in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End on Union Street, and the recent introduction of an online store.
He said: “Following on from the re-branding and re-launch of Signature 2 in 2008, we then invested £200,000 into the refurbishment of Signature in March of this year as well as putting a further £12,000 into the development of Signature Online. We also continue to stock top brands and are now in the privileged position of being approached by brands who want to be stocked by us, a key aim for every fashion retailer. To be the only Scottish retailer nominated for our category is a credit to their efforts and reflects the hard work we put into bringing the best in designer menswear to the area. I dedicate this award to the team and also to our customers who have been so loyal over the years.”
The original Signature store stocks Armani, Ralph Lauren, Gant, Hugo Boss, Sand, Duchamp and Lyle & Scott, while their second store, Signature 2 offers casual-wear ranges including Lacoste, Paul & Shark, Hackett, Ralph Lauren, Henri Lloyd and Ted Baker. With a very impressive line-up of the best designer brands and a turnover of £1.8million last year, it is no surprise that the Scottish designer menswear store scooped up the Drapers Award for Menswear Retailer of the Year 2010.
If you are not one of those fortunate enough to live near the Aberdeen-based designer stores, fear not, as they have recently developed their online store. Some of the designer items are exclusive to their online store and orders in stock are shipped within 24 hours. Most impressively, they offer free delivery on all orders, so no matter where you are based in the UK, you can enjoy the delights that Signature has to offer from the comfort of your own home.
