[UPDATE]: Pre-Orders are now almost sold out with 85% of stock having already been purchased as part of the pre-sale window. If you want one of these snapbacks, then head over to the King Apparel store now. Delivery is expected during the week of 14 February.
We really do love design talent deriving from our fair city of London and the ubiquitous King Apparel – the exclusive single-run company – have secured an exclusive deal with New Era to produce snapbacks under the coveted Starter Black Label scheme, following the likes of In4mation, Kidrobot, Vans and DC Shoes, who have undertaken collaborations with Starter from the beginning of the label in 1971.
From humble beginnings – with funding from The Prince’s Trust back in 2002 – founders Tim Hoad and Paul Linton have come a long way to ensure that King Apparel lives up to its name and have seen the brand become synonymous with London streetwear and the exclusivity element has also helped make every item produced by the company an instant collectible.
As you will probably know, the King Apparel lines tend to be produced in a single run of around 300 units and the latest New Era caps will be limited to a run of just 288 pieces per style. For the math-averse amongst you; with just 3 styles – The East London King, the LDN Dagger and the Dappa Krest – there will be a total of just 864 of these snapbacks in circulation.
From the names, you can see their London origins are still not lost and the designs reflect this, including an appearance from their LDN line making up one of the styles.
The line will be available direct from the first week of February, but with much of their stock being pre-ordered, we don’t expect that they will last long.
