Topman’s Latest Trend is Spring Utility; a collection that sees a modern take on casual workwear. The collection has a strong feel of the provincial countryside, reflected in the choice of camel, rust, stone and oatmeal colours, while the rich tones of tobacco, burgundy, khaki and plum reinforce the utilitarian look.
Utility styling, along with heritage influences, are used to reinvent classic shapes such as the mac, chino and shirt. Authentic textures and materials are prevalent, such as cable knit cardigans, cowl neck waffle jumpers, washed denim polos and military style shackets (a cross between a shirt and a jacket).
Layering is key with this look, with the use of various fabrics and textures – grandad T-shirts, washed denim jackets, cable knit cardigans, hooded shirts, woven snoods, cord shirts, military jackets, chambray shirts and roll up shorts. The casual attitude of the Spring Utility look is down to the washed fabrics, heritage influences and layered silhouette.

cassie added these pithy words on Jun 04 11 at 2:11 pmYeah, loving the maroon cardigan! Seems a bit slim (great) but the chunkiness gives it some masculine texturing. Like the high-buttoning. Kudos Topman.
